Your kids don't like writing? Have them try blogging!

My 9 year old just posted her first blog (under my profile) today.  I couldn't be prouder.  This is a young one who doesn't like handwriting much of anything, but she'll type all day long.  She also loves science.  Put the two together and you get Megan's Science and Nature Blog.

We've struggled for a while to get her to write when her lessons call for it.  She loves to tell stories and talk, but taking the time to write any of that down is, well, just a waste of time to her.  She'd much rather be DOING something.  Last year we introduced typing lessons as part of her regular homeschool routine.  It has been helpful, and we think typing is valuable for life in the real world.  I'm sure that by the time she reaches college there will be a myriad of "input" methods, but typing remains the standard for the time being.
Going forward, I think we'll get her to take notes on certain things and then translate them in typed format.  She had a lot of fun posting her science experiment for her new blog.  I hope this is the beginning of fun learning and skills-building for her.
